Abstract of land for which no declaration requesting further credit was filed, 1821.

Land purchases for which no credit declaration had been made under an act of Congress (March 2, 1821), were subject to either payment in full by September 30, 1821, or forfeiture. Abstract entries for each individual purchaser include purchase date; purchaser name and residence; tract legal description; amount owed by the purchaser; amount paid by or credited to purchaser; and balance due. For tracts subsequently forfeited, entries include number of acres forfeited; purchase price owed; amount of purchase price paid; and unpaid balance due the federal government. Occasional remarks concern further case disposition (e.g, credits allowed on land because purchaser was charged for more acres than actually existed; later declaration for further credit filed; tract paid for in full).
